One-on-One Home Care

Whether you or your loved one lives independently or in a retirement community, their safety and well-being are our top priorities. Our approach to care considers both their physical health and emotional fulfillment, recognizing these elements as vital for maintaining a rewarding life.

Providing Tailored One-on-One Care for Aging Loved Ones

Our one-on-one care service is flexible, addressing a wide range of senior home care needs. Some clients may need overnight assistance for peace of mind, while others require comprehensive support throughout the day. Others may only need occasional daytime visits for specific tasks.

Our care includes personal assistance, safety supervision, engaging activities, and companionship. Our goal is not just to ensure your loved one’s safety but also to enrich their life, helping them live joyfully and fully despite any limitations.

Customizing One-on-One Care Services to Your Needs

After completing a thorough care assessment, we carefully match each client with a caregiver who fits their unique needs and preferences. Our selection process is rigorous, emphasizing the importance of building a strong relationship between caregiver and client. Our personalized approach ensures that all your specific requirements are met, including readiness for emergencies.

Respite Care

Ensuring effective respite care means addressing the needs of both the client and their primary caregiver(s). At Alleva Home Care, our core mission is supporting families. When we provide respite care services to elderly or disabled clients, it benefits not only the client but also their family and friends, who gain reassurance knowing their loved one receives dedicated care from skilled, compassionate caregivers.

Family members benefit from having healthcare professionals manage caregiving tasks, allowing them to spend quality time with their loved one. This family-centered approach is central to our respite care services.

What does Respite Care involve?

Respite care typically takes two forms:

Regularly Scheduled Respite Shifts: Anticipating the need for respite care often prompts families to arrange ongoing shifts (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, ranging from 4 to 24 hours). Scheduled respite caregivers provide primary caregivers with essential breaks, ensuring consistent care from a familiar face.

Emergency or As-Needed Respite Care: Sometimes, respite care needs arise unexpectedly. Whether due to the primary caregiver's illness, other family emergencies, or simply feeling overwhelmed, Alleva Home Care responds promptly to provide immediate caregiver support.

Services Provided:

Respite caregivers are trained to assist clients with various tasks outlined in their care plans, including morning and bedtime routines, personal care (such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, mobility, and transfers), medication reminders, light housekeeping, laundry, transportation, shopping, meal preparation, companionship, and supervision. They collaborate closely with primary caregivers to ensure a seamless transition and satisfactory client experience.

We assist numerous families daily with our respite care services.

Why choose Respite Care?

The demands of family caregiving can be overwhelming. Even the most dedicated caregivers need time off to care for themselves. Long-distance caregivers balancing their own families and careers often find it challenging to manage all responsibilities. Elderly couples caring for each other may struggle with physical demands, impacting their health and well-being.

Our team is committed to delivering high-quality respite care tailored to the unique needs of primary caregivers and their loved ones.

Establishing Respite Care Services:

After completing an initial assessment and obtaining family approval of the care plan, we match clients with qualified caregivers based on schedule and personality fit. Our caregivers undergo rigorous screening, including background checks, references, and thorough interviews, ensuring they are compassionate and dedicated to client care. For urgent requests, we can expedite caregiver placement to ensure immediate support at the client's home.

Care Management

Care management services are a comprehensive way of ensuring that crucial aspects of your loved one’s care are in place. This includes coordination of care, such as making sure that medical, therapy, and dental appointments are in place, including follow-up. The goal is to support you with the tasks involved in caring for seniors or people with chronic and serious illness.

A sample of typical services includes:

  • Individualized care planning and coordination of services, including therapy and pharmaceutical needs.
  • Establishing care goals, including a schedule for periodic review and update.
  • Care plan management that assures daily and/or weekly routine care services are in place and being completed according to your contract with Alleva Home Care.
  • Establishing and following through with communication between Alleva and the primary family caregiver.
  • Managing mail and household communication as guided by the primary family caregiver.

Post-Operative Care

Alleva Home Care provides quality After Hospital Care to support your loved one’s recovery journey. Transitioning between care levels can pose risks like falls, medication errors, and dietary neglect. At Alleva Home Care, we specialize in creating personalized plans to ensure a smooth transition. End-Of-Life Care

Alleva Home Care Provides Compassionate End-of-Life Care and Support for Caregivers

Navigating end-of-life care is profoundly important during such challenging times. When your physician recommends hospice care, our team steps in with personalized, in-home visits from a social worker and nurse. They provide tailored guidance and support, ensuring your elderly family member receives the highest quality of care during this significant phase. While hospice nurses provide vital support, we understand they can't be there 24/7. Balancing your presence with other responsibilities can be overwhelming. Alleva Home Care is here to help you through this difficult time.

We deliver hands-on care as prescribed by your hospice team to ensure your loved one's comfort throughout their end-of-life journey. Our focus is on maximizing their comfort and transitioning from medical treatments to enhancing their quality of life in their final months. At Alleva Home Care, we are dedicated to supporting you when end-of-life care is needed, facilitating a smoother transition and assisting with organizing affairs for greater peace of mind.

Supporting Families Through the Challenges of End-of-Life Care

We work closely with your hospice team to provide comprehensive, round-the-clock personalized care for your family member. Dementia & Alzheimer's Care

It is both sad and worrisome if your family member is showing signs of confusion or has been diagnosed with memory or cognitive-related health problems. This decline can be hard to process, especially as you start to feel a sense of loss. Alleva Home Care provides sensitive care and in-home services, offering you the assurances that our caregivers:

We are here to help when you need us:

  • Provide the support necessary to minimize lifestyle disruption.
  • Are trained and skilled in the best ways to care for people with memory-related difficulties.
  • Will support your loved one’s health and safety by supporting them to make the right choices through reminders and prompts. They guide activities to keep your loved one safe and healthy, while maintaining a sense of well-being.

Nurse-Delegated Care

We want to assure that your or your loved ones' care needs are safely provided with nurse delegation. This option is ideal for those who require some additional help that falls outside the scope of responsibilities of a non-medical agency. These services may include medication management or administration. A registered nurse delegator (RND) oversees these health care tasks to enure that they are done properly and safely by your caregiver.

Nurse Delegators completed training and are licensed by the Washington State Department of Health, and follow all laws established by the Nursing Commission.

The Nurse Delegator's role is to:

  • Ensure that the laws relating to delegation are properly followed
  • Conduct an in-person assessment of caregivers' abilities to safely and effectively provide various delegated services
  • Offer training to ensure continued quality control of services

What a Caregiver Can Do For You

Bathing

  • Bathing is vital to an individual’s sense of well-being. It refreshes the soul, provides relaxation while cleansing the skin and stimulating circulation.

Grooming

  • We can help with dressing assistance, help wash and comb hair, trim nails, shave the face and apply creams - all the daily things that help our clients feel good about themselves, and their appearance.

Toileting

  • The inability to control urination or defecation may be embarrassing to individuals and can become unsanitary if not managed correctly. Our caregivers understand the sensitivity of this situation and approach it in an effective and dignified manner.

Managing Medication

  • Alleva Home Care provides only non-medical care. For that reason, our caregivers are not allowed to administer medications but can assist our clients by opening the medication containers, reading labels to ensure the correct medication and dosage are taken, overseeing the refill of daily containers, or simply reminding clients that it’s time to take medication.

Meal Preparation

  • Many seniors do not have the opportunity to eat a well-balanced meal. Our professional caregivers are trained to prepare hot meals that are both nutritious and delicious. Healthy eating promotes healthy living, and that is what we strive to achieve.

Groceries & Shopping

  • Caregivers will shop with or without the client accompanying them. They can shop at any store the client prefers, and can use any coupons provided.

Transferring & Mobility

  • Moving or placing a person into a correct posture position encourages the functional activity of the body’s many systems. It assists in eliminating pressure areas on the skin, reducing atrophy and stiffening of muscles, encourages proper breathing, digestion, and elimination.

Exercising

  • Regular physical activity and exercise are vital to a healthy lifestyle. The benefits of movement to both physical and mental health are seen in everyday life. Those who keep a physically active lifestyle tend to benefit by increasing stamina, strengthening the heart, lowering blood pressure, and improving digestion and sleep.

Transportation

  • Our caregivers will accompany clients on trips to doctor appointments, beauty salons/barbershops, shopping, religious services, club meetings, and outings – anywhere they wish to go. Part of healthy living is being able to explore the world, and continuous exposure to the outdoors is good for the mind, body, and soul.

Light Housekeeping

  • A clean home is a happy home. Our caregivers understand the importance of sanitary living and are committed to doing everything possible to keep you in a clean living environment. Light housekeeping includes vacuuming, dusting, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, and appliances, taking out the trash, straightening all rooms, organizing closets and drawers, cleaning any interior windows that can be reached without a ladder, as well as care of house plants, changing linens and making beds.
